Calling all Serennu Dads

On the 2nd Saturday of each month, 10am - 12pm, Sparkle Helping Hands service hosts a monthly Dads group at Serennu.

It is an opportunity for all male carers of children with a disability or developmental difficulty, to meet other male carers for breakfast and a chat. The guys meet in the flat at Serennu and if you are available, and would like to come along, you would be most welcome to attend. There is no need to book, just turn up.

One Dad from the group says "The Dads group has been a lifeline, discussing issues, realising that you're not alone, helping one another and providing support. Although some of the Dads have children with more complex issues it is the understanding of what it is to be a Dad with children who have additional needs. Talking about issues and getting a perspective. It is only two hours a month but we also try to meet outside the group, creating friendships and understanding."

If you would like further information please contact Molly Batchelor at Molly.Batchelor@wales.nhs.uk or 01633 748023. Molly says "It is not uncommon to feel anxious when first attending a group so if you would like to meet on a 1:1 basis before your first session, I would be happy to do that, please just let me know".
