Fun at Residential Stay

During July, a group of Sparkle young people had the opportunity to take a residential break at Calvert Trust in Exmoor. Calvert Trust is an activity centre that offers disabled and able bodied people the opportunity to enjoy many different activities that they may not have previously experienced. We had 21 young people request to attend the overnight stay, and 6 requests for the four night stay. Whilst at Calvert Trust, the young people experienced abseiling, horse riding, archery, canoeing and many other fantastic activities. It was also an opportunity to develop social skills, make new friends and also to just have fun. One young person who attended said “this is amazing, I really loved the canoeing especially when we got water in the boat”. Another comment was “ the disco was great, we danced for a long time”.

This residential stay was heavily subsidised by funds received from O2e and we are very grateful for their continued support towards the Sparkle Appeal. From young people, parents and staff at Serennu Children’s Centre, we would like to say a massive thank you to everybody at O2e who made this wonderful experience possible.
