Residential Stay

15 Young People who attend different Sparkle clubs here at Serennu, recently had the opportunity to stay overnight on a residential break at Adventure Wales. For a few of the young people this was their first stay away from their family home so it was very exciting indeed. A full compliment of trained Sparkle Workers accompanied the young people on this trip, and everybody had a great time. After leaving Serennu Children’s Centre on Friday afternoon, he group travelled to their accommodation and settled themselves for the evening. They played various games; watched DVD’s and of course had scrummy food so they could go to bed with full bellies. After a good night’s sleep, the group got up, washed and dressed, had breakfast and then went gorge walking in the Brecon Beacons.

They then returned to Serennu to meet back with parents and family members. “I had an amazing time, it was so good”. “We had the opportunity to go Gorge Walking which was a real challenge, but we all did it”.

All the young people who took part in this trip would like to say a massive thank you to Sparkle and O2E for allowing them to attend, and also to the staff who made it possible. O2E have been a huge supporter of Sparkle for many years and this year they fully funded the Sparkle residential stay. We are extremely grateful to O2E and would like to thank them for their   continued support. The 2017 trip will be available for young people over the age of 12 (at June 2017), who attend any Sparkle club. Priority will be given to children/young people who, within the last two years, have not had the   opportunity to attend a Sparkle residential stay.
