sensory room launch

On Thursday 10th September, Sparkle held the launch of the new Sensory Room at Serennu Children’s Centre. It was officially opened by the Right Worshipful Mayor of Newport, Councillor Herbie Thomas, and the ribbon was cut by 10 year old fund raiser Noah Herniman, who attends Serennu for physiotherapy.

The Sensory Room has been funded by donations from O2E and the Clothworkers’ Foundation, and it contains state of the art equipment and facilities which enable fun and stimulating opportunities. This will promote both sensory play and relaxation for the youngsters. Sparkle are delighted to announce that the Sensory Room is now open for families to book and enjoy.

If you would like further information about the new Sensory Room, or if you would like to book a 45 minute bespoke session, please email: ABB_Sparkleactivities@wales.nhs.uk or telephone: 01633 748093. Each session costs £12 and does need to be booked in advance. A trained Play Worker will be provided in each session to support families.
