Serennu Summer Fete

On Sunday 28th July, Serennu hosted their annual Summer fete. Over 400 people joined us to enjoy a few hours of sun, fun, entertainment and lovely food. There were lots of different activities taking place including a tombola, fairground stalls, play zones and a sensory room. We were also lucky to have our local Community Police Officers and Fire Service join in the fun and they spoke to many families and answered loads of questions. We are also grateful to Newport Live, County in the Community and Dragons Rugby for providing various outside activities that were enjoyed by everyone. Olaf paid a visit and he was pleased to interact with families and pose for photographs. We all had the pleasure of enjoying lovely burgers, hotdogs or food wraps from the catering van, and also sandwiches, drinks and snacks that were provided by Clare and her team at the Serennu Cafe. Our traditional cake stall was once again selling gorgeous home made cakes for everybody to enjoy. We were grateful for the lovely comments and feedback we received, one mum said “fun filled day thank you. Fantastically organised, great team, great event”. Another comment was “ Thank you it was fab. Lots of different things to do. My two didn’t want to leave. Thanks to all involved as always making the day happen”. The fete raised over £1000 for the Sparkle Appeal and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who made the day a success, including all our wonderful volunteers, everybody who gave donations, and all the families who attended.
