Sparkle goes on Residential

During July, a group of young people who attend different Sparkle clubs at Serennu, had the opportunity to attend a residential break at Calvert Trust in Exmoor. Calvert Trust is an activity centre that offers disabled and able bodied people the opportunity to enjoy many different activities that they may not have previously experienced. We had 26 young people request to attend the overnight stay and 9 requests for the 4 night stay. Whilst at Calvert Trust the young people experienced rock climbing, horse riding, canoeing. abseiling and many other fantastic activities. It was also an opportunity to develop social skills, make new friends and also to just have fun. One young person who attended said “ I had a great time with my friends”, another comment was “ can we go back again soon”. This residential stay was heavily subsidised by funds received from O2e and the Sparkle Charity and Sparkle Trustees. We are extremely grateful for their continued support towards funding these residential stays. On behalf of the young people, parents and staff at Serennu Children’s Centre, we would like to say a massive thank you for making this wonderful experience possible.
