Thousands flock to Cwmbran for charity fun day
IT WAS fun and games for the thousands of people who packed into Llanyrafon South Fields in Cwmbran on Saturday.
BIG EFFORT: One of the Hayes Recruitment team in action

About 5,000 people turned out for Cwmbran Round Table Spectacular event featuring an It's a Knockout contest, music and demonstrations with the money raised being split between Cwmbran Round Table for its annual fireworks display and the Argus-backed Sparkle Appeal to raise funds for the new centre for disabled children at High Cross.
The second annual event to be held by Cwmbran Round Table attracted people of all ages who were entertained by local bands such as Hoochie Mamma, a zumba demonstration by Amanda Ellis and a funfair for the children.
Youngsters also got a glimpse of guinea pigs bought down from Greenmeadow Community Farm.
But the highlight of the day had to be the It's a Knockout competition in aid of the Sparkle Appeal.
Fourteen teams were faced with a series of obstacles including calamity castles, where they had to assemble large soft-play castle pieces, and picnic panic where the teams had to gather picnic ingredients from the inflatable picnic baskets in relay.

Teams included Admiral Insurance, The Victoria pub on Caerleon Road, Baneswell football team, Iceland, a Zumba team, Hayes Recruitment, the Celtic Manor, Sytner Mini, Go Compare, Newport City Council and Cwmbran Round Table.
Faith Husband from the charity said: "It went really well and everyone has enjoyed themselves."
The charity raised around £4,000 from the competition and hoped to raise an extra £3,000 from the takings donated by Cwmbran Round Table.
The money raised by Sparkle will go towards the remaining £750,000 needed to equip the centre which will provide specialist treatment for disabled children in south Gwent.
Anyone who made a donation to Sparkle on the day was entered into a draw to win a mini for the weekend.
