Food parcels and free school meals in Caerphilly

At present there are several school hubs in Caerphilly offering childcare provision for children of key workers, these children will be offered 3 meals a day whilst in their care.

Children at home that are eligible for free school meals that have enrolled with Bridges into Work will be eligible for home delivery. Vehicles will offer a home delivery service whereby they weekly distribute a week worth of meals (5 frozen meals) for each eligible child.

These meals will be delivered on set days depending on your post code, you can check the details of delivery dates for your area on www.caerphilly.gov website or contact bridges into work directly. If you are not already receiving free school meals and think your child is eligible, please email bridgesintowork@caerphilly.gov.uk as a matter of urgency. You can also call either one of these numbers : 07717803962, 07701020128, 07920152568, 07754746779, 07810200290, 07789938346, 07720948033, 07769718308, 07770923598 or 07920152579.

For parents who have just been made redundant they will need to apply for universal credit before being able to apply for free school meals.

*In other boroughs there is an option of having a monetary value equivalent to the value of a school meal into parents bank accounts, but Caerphilly are not offering this option. Nor are they offering school meal collection from hubs.

As well as essential dried foods and drinks they are able to provide baby food and nappies for families with babies. These items will have to be requested separately as won’t necessarily come in the deliveries we receive.
