Sparkle Youth Forum is the rebrand of the previous ‘Fast and Furious’ Group. The 12-17 year olds decided that they wanted to change the name and logo of the club, and, working together they created a bright and vibrant logo and a new slogan ‘Together we Shine’ which they were adamant had to be visible in both Welsh and English!

The main aim of the club is to give our Sparkle children and young people a voice. The Youth Forum attend various Sparkle clubs and gather thoughts and suggestions from other children about what they would like to see at the centre, the types of clubs they would like to be involved with or any changes they would like to see introduced.  The group have had various successes including the placing of new teenage appropriate toys in the waiting room, introducing new themes for summer holiday activities, attending the Senedd and meeting Ministers!

This group of young people get the opportunity to present their findings and ideas not only to the Sparkle Board of Trustees but also to the ISCAN South and Serennu Board. This is a brilliant way for their voices to be heard by senior managers within South Gwent and also helps them to build their confidence.

As well as the benefits to the centre and the children and young people Sparkle support, attending Sparkle Youth Forum also provides a great opportunity for the young people to have fun and meet others, whilst being able to share thoughts and ideas about the services they access at the centre.

The forum meets at the Serennu centre every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6pm. For more information please contact Sparkle on 01633 748093/748092.
