On Saturday 20th November, a group of Sparkle Trustees, staff and families were able to attend the O2E ball at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, for a night of fun and fundraising.

O2E has supported Sparkle since 2012, and their amazing fundraising activities and events have contributed massively to our activities and facilities for children and young people with disabilities and/or developmental difficulties, including our annual residential trips and the sensory room at Serennu Children’s Centre.

The black tie event included music and entertainment, as well as an auction to raise money for Sparkle and other worthwhile causes. Some of our young people were able to attend and enjoyed dancing the night away with Sparkle Play Workers, and Seren wowed the crowd with a lovely rendition of ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’.

The next day, we were very happy to welcome O2E to Serennu Children’s Centre for a tour. It was great to be able to share with them the impact of their fundraising, and show them exactly where the money goes.

As our Chairman, Sabine Maguire said “O2E really live up to their title – ordinary to extraordinary- in their dedication to fundraising for our children, among others. We were so excited to be part of the ball, and were delighted to share the celebrations with some of our amazing Play Workers and fantastic young people. We look forward to hearing how much they managed to raise, and sharing this with the other great causes they support”.

We are incredibly grateful to O2E for their continued support, and everything they do for children and young people with disabilities and/or developmental difficulties. We look forward to finding out how much was raised during the ball and to continuing our relationship with this extraordinary organisation.
