Developments in North Gwent

We are delighted to announce that Sparkle has been funded by the Integrated Care Fund in Wales to conduct a full feasibility study for a new Children's Centre in North Gwent, which is ongoing and a report will be produced by March 2022.

We look forward to working with our partners in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, Social Care in Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire and Torfaen, Coleg Gwent and other voluntary sector organisations active in the area.

If you have any questions or would like any information about this project, please contact Megan Francis-Falkner, Sparkle's Research and Support Officer, on 01633 748118 or email research@sparkleappeal.org

Design a Children's Centre Competition

In 2021, we ran a 'Design a Children's Centre Competition' to gain the views of children and young people with disabilities and/or developmental difficulties in North Gwent on what they would like from a new Children's Centre.

Whilst ideas from all entries have been included in our consultation into the need for a new Children's Centre, thanks to funding from our generous sponsors we were able to award prizes in three age categories. Winning entries were chosen by representatives from Sparkle and our sponsor companies.
