A huge achievement - 59 Sparkle children passed their swim assessment with flying colours!
In partnership with CB Training, Sparkle host swim lessons that offer an opportunity for children and young people with a disability or developmental difficulty to learn to swim.
Swimming has a myriad of benefits for all children, but learning to swim is particularly beneficial for children with special needs. Generally speaking, there are three major goals for a swim programme designed for children with additional needs:
1. Boosting physical activity levels
2. Developing self-confidence
3. Teaching a life-saving skill
We deliver two nationally recognised swimming programmes - the 'Rockhopper' and 'ASA Learn to swim pathway'. Recently, children attending lessons at Serennu, were awarded swim badges and certificates to acknowledge their achievements. In total 59 children completed a swim assessment: 36 achieved the STA Rockhopper disability award and 23 achieved swim England stages award.
Congratulations everyone, we are very proud of you all!
