Sparkle’s new geographical reach extends to families living in the Nevill Hall Children's Centre catchment area, including Blaenau Gwent, North Monmouthshire and North Torfaen.

In May 2019, Sparkle (South Wales) Limited, extended its reach from Serennu Children’s Centre in Newport, to continue the amazing work of the Umbrella Appeal by becoming the official charity of Nevill Hall Children’s Centre in Abergavenny.

The Children’s Centre takes a holistic approach to improving the lives of children/young people (aged 0-18 years old) with severe and complex disabilities/developmental delay in North Monmouthshire, North Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent.

Proposals for a new fully-integrated Children's Centre & Transition Hub in North Gwent...

Following an in-depth consultation with families and professionals, it is clear that the families living in North Gwent need a modern, fully integrated Children's Centre, with an integrated Transition Hub, preferably located in Blaenau Gwent. Sparkle have conducted an in depth feasibility study of what is required and where it should be sited and drawn up plans for the optimal centre. This proposal was submitted to the Gwent Regional Partnership board in September 2023, but disappointingly they have rejected this proposal.

Sparkle are continuing to work with our partners in Health, Social Care and Education to try and deliver an integrated service to all of the families that need this across Gwent.

If you have any concerns about this decision, we suggest that you write directly to the Regional Partnership Board on gwentregionalpartnershipboard@torfaen.gov.uk or contact your local Senedd member, who can represent your views, and ensure that the needs of your child and family are met appropriately.

Being able to access a safe environment... has been priceless over the years.

Being able to access a safe environment with staff who understand their needs has been priceless over the years. My child has gained confidence and really enjoys going to youth club, they have made friends and taken part in many fun activities that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to access.
