We were delighted to welcome Ruth Jones MP to Sparkle on Thursday 16 July, where she donated a generous collection of toys, games and activities for the children and families we support.
The donation followed work Ruth carried out with The Toy & Hobby Association in Westminster, where she was gifted a selection of toys and games and chose to donate them to Sparkle.
Earlier in her career, Ruth worked at Serennu Children's Centre supporting children and young people with disabilities. Having seen first-hand the impact Sparkle has on local families, she said Sparkle felt like the natural choice for the donation.
The generous collection includes everything from board games and puzzles to sensory toys, activity sets and cuddly toys. The donation will be used across Sparkle's services, helping to create fun, engaging and inclusive experiences for children with disabilities and developmental difficulties.
During her visit, Ruth met with members of Sparkle's fundraising and marketing teams and enjoyed a walk around our Woodland Walk, where she learned more about the support Sparkle provides to children and families across Gwent.
