Sparkle Volunteer Anthony Wilkins wins award at the GAVO Newport Volunteering Awards

Sparkle attended the GAVO Newport Volunteering Awards 2023 at the Coldra Court hotel on the evening of Monday 18 September 2023 to recognise the hard work and dedication of volunteers in Newport.

Tony Wilkins, one of Sparkle's volunteers based in Serennu Children's Centre was nominated for the 'Community Inclusion' award. Tony dedicates 3 days a week helping to ensure the building and outside areas, including the park area are kepy clean and tidy and to a high standad. Tony's hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed by the Sparkle team.

The event was attended by Tony and his daughter Danika and they were accompanied by Sparkle Fundraising Officer, Tracey Holloway. The awards were attended by the final 2 nominations for each of the 11 categories. The Right Worship Mayor or Newport and High Sherrif of Gwent Prof Simon Gibson CBE, DL as well as many other respectable professionals in attendence of the evening.

We were delighted to see Tony go on to WIN the award for Communiy Inclusion and we congratulate Tony on an amazing achievement. We are so lucky to have people like Tony who volunteer their time with us here at Sparkle.
